Joey had the umbilical hernia and the hydrocele…I panicked the first time I saw the hydrocele…Both are looking great…it is as if he never had the umb hernia….I figured it would not go away…esp. this soon!!! These things are typical in premature or low birthweight babies..I don’t know how my 10 lb 3 oz had them…but they are getting better…so many worries huh!

FYI: NICU’s are like roller coaster rides; I hated roller coasters before our NICU experience.

Almost forgot…As of 5/5 Finn has returned to his delivery weight of 4 lb 15 oz. so he recovered quickly from the initial drop off and should start gaining soon!

If your wondering where the pictures are, they are still on my camera. I neglected to bring the necessary cable with which to transfer the pictures. The video camera records to SD chips BUT my laptop doesn’t read the high speed SD chips that I have to use in my camera…but tommorow morning I’m going to go buy a new cable or card reader. Finn is doing fine, he has had to increase the amount of oxygen he is on and has also spit up some of his food (so we are considering the lactose intolerant thing now)

He still looks great and is on his way to getting big and strong.

As a proud grandmother, let me add some to Corey’s post. Finley Theodore Wilson weighs in at 4# 15oz and is 16″. In Sarah’s words he is “just perfect”. Sarah is doing quite well considering all she had to go through. She is already the best mother ever. I have never seen such love and pride as I saw when Sarah looked at Finn. I know this is a massive change in plans for Sarah and Corey, so any help, encouraging words, etc. will be greatly appreciated. Congratulations to Sarah and Corey. Welcome to Finn. We love you immeasurably already.

So lets try this again. I wrote that past yesterday but didn’t get a chance to publish it.

Now for the update. After several hours of labor and a lot of pushing little peanut turned out to be just too big for Sarah. The decision was made to convert to a C-Section at around 10pm. Needless to say this was very upsetting news for both of us but the end result would be worth it. At 11:01pm I became the father of a little red lobster looking baby boy named Finely Theodore Wilson, we will call him Finn.

Finn is currently in the NICU but didn’t need any breathing assistance or anything. He did get a nasal canula this morning to bring up his oxygen levels. He’s also on IV anitbiotics just as a precaution since they think Sarah might have had an infection. She is doing well in recovery and can’t wait to go down and see Finn again today.
